Lolli
Because of the writer's workshop, I felt the need to post a picture of my Lolli-bird. I took this of him today, eating a raw green bean (his favorite food). By the way, my kids are much more important than my bird (it was mentioned at one point that kids and pets cannot be compared... No way..). The bird is more fun though. Oh, don't get all offended! You know kids sometimes drive you to drinking! My kids are in this fighting stage, in which they argue infinitely. It is giving me the will to drink. A LOT. That's all I'm saying.

Christmas present
This is what my parents gave me for Christmas. I simply asked for a single-cup coffee maker. Lots of coffee goes to waste in our house because when we actually DO make coffee, we only drink maybe one cup each. Sooo, the single-cup coffee maker made sense. This is the one they decided on. (The most expensive one) Let me tell you about this fine machine... It makes latte's, cappucinos, regular coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. You have to buy these things called T-discs for it, which are these small plastic discs similar to the black one on the bottom right of the box. They are a bit pricey, but if you are like me and you like "fancy coffees" then it is well worth it. I have used the darned thing every morning so far since we got home from my mother's. My official review on a scale of 1-10 is an 8. It would be a 10 if not for the price of the t-discs and the machine is touchy. It only makes one size drink and if you want more than that (in other words, you want it to be more mild tasting) you have to hold the button down and wait until the desired amount is dispensed. I LOVE my new coffee maker though! I definitely wouldn't trade it!!
I am now high on caffeine every morning. Thanks mom and stepdad! :)

Writer's Workshop
Ok, so this is my first writer's workshop. Little info... MamaKat does a writer's workshop, gives subjects, you choose one, and write about it. Fun, right? We'll see...
The subject I have chosen is to tell about my pet. We have a pug named Cooper, a white cat named Sarafina, a green parrot named Lolli and too many fish. Lolli, my subject, was originally intended to be the "family bird". Well, he only loves MEEE! Anyone else that dares to get near him or his cage gets pecked within an inch of their life. Well, maybe not an inch but it hurts like the dickens. Example: Yesterday I was in the process of making cookies for the fam and Lolli was fussing. So, I went and retrieved him from his playground on top of his cage. Because I didn't have enough hands to hold him and make cookies, I gave him to my 7 year old daughter to hold for just a couple minutes while I finished. Lolli wasn't having it. After about a minute he started to peck the crap outta her little skinny arm. She starts crying. I have to drop what I am doing to save her life, er.. arm.
Lolli talks. He is still considered a baby so he doesn't say a WHOLE lot. He says "C'mon... Gime kisses" and makes kissing noises, "I'm a dirty bird", "HII!!", "Step up", and "NO BITE!!". He's hilarious. To me at least. And he is really smart. I say "I'm a dirty bird" when I see him poop. Now he has begun to put it together and when he poops he says "I'm a dirty bird". lol
I love Lolli very much. I hate how he treats the rest of the family, and everyone else for that matter. What happens if I die?? No one will be able to take care of him for a while, at least until he figures out I'm gone. These birds live about 20-30 years! Yikes!
Another blog you ask??
Ok, so I decided to make another blog... More of my own ramblings on and such instead of mainly family subjects like my other one. The first blog I made was for family to be able to catch up on our lives every now and then whereas this one will be more for me, and some of my random thoughts, etc... You get the drift. I may like having two, and maybe not. I suppose we can call this a dry run.
I had all these ideas this morning of what I would say on a different blog and now I've lost them. All it takes is one trip to WalMart and poof! it's gone. Surely this happens to everyone that has children? huh? Please say yes so I don't feel like I am among the crazies out there. lol Or maybe I am... (as MamaKat says "don't hate me cuz you ain't me")
